HIGHFIELD HOUSE

Located within the prestigious Country Club of Lakewood Ranch, this 5,700-square-foot residence was originally built in 2014. While the home featured impressive scale and beautiful outdoor living spaces, the homeowners quickly realized that many of the original design decisions did not support the way they wanted to live. After years of experiencing the home's limitations firsthand, they engaged Eridel Construction & Design to reimagine the residence through a comprehensive redesign that would transform both the architecture and the overall living experience.

Rather than simply updating finishes and furnishings, the project began with a complete reevaluation of the home's floor plan. The existing layout lacked the flow, functionality, and connection the homeowners envisioned. Through thoughtful space planning and architectural redesign, key areas of the residence were reconfigured to create a more cohesive relationship between the home's primary living spaces and outdoor environment.

One of the most significant transformations involved completely reimagining the kitchen and pantry. The original footprint was redesigned from the ground up, allowing for improved circulation, expanded storage, enhanced functionality, and a stronger connection to the surrounding living and entertaining spaces. What was once a series of disconnected rooms became a highly functional centerpiece designed to support both everyday living and large-scale entertaining.

Equally transformative was the decision to blur the boundaries between indoor and outdoor living. An existing open-air space was enclosed and incorporated into the home's conditioned square footage, becoming a seamless extension of the grand room. In conjunction with a thoughtfully designed addition, this architectural intervention dramatically changed the way the home is experienced, creating larger gathering spaces while strengthening the visual connection between the interior and the surrounding landscape.

Throughout the residence, custom architectural details, millwork, and carefully layered materials were introduced to create warmth, character, and continuity. A refined transitional aesthetic guides the design, balancing timeless elegance with modern livability. Rich wood tones, sophisticated stone selections, tailored furnishings, and thoughtfully integrated lighting create an atmosphere that feels both luxurious and welcoming.

The result is a home that bears little resemblance to the residence originally built in 2014. Through strategic architectural redesign, thoughtful space planning, and a carefully curated interior vision, the home was transformed into a highly personalized retreat that finally reflects the lifestyle, functionality, and beauty the homeowners had envisioned from the very beginning.
